It was in 2012 that Lin Bingqiang registered the name for his Behrens watch brand, now established in Shenzhen's abundant industrial ecosystem. The name refers to Peter Behrens (1868-1940), a German pioneer of industrial design. The co-founders of the brand wanted to pay tribute to him because they recognised themselves in his creative philosophy, which would become their guiding principle. 
The Behrens watch brand focuses on the design and development of movement modifications by building a mechanical module in-house to offer a variety of functional time displays. Most of the models feature cosmic, geographical or space references and associated unconventional displays. The Apolar and Rotary models were nominated for the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix in 2020 in the ‘Calendar & Astronomy’ and ‘Challenge’ categories.
